PEOPLE ARE POWERED BY BELIEF

I wonder if you can accept what I’m going to tell you? I wonder if you can take this deep inside? People are powered by beliefs… If you accept that your belief in yourself is more important than anything else… You will understand what you need to prioritise… The question is? Do you need experience to create belief or can you create belief without experience?

If you can say it, then you can believe it, then you shall receive it…

Belief comes first, that’s right it’s an inside job…

From the beginning of its conception the idea of the four-minute mile seemed like a too lofty ideal to break… No one thought it was possible… People had the idea that the 4-minute mile was a beyond human limitation… So no one ever came close, no matter how close people came they were limited by the belief it was impossible…

Perhaps this was a cultural limiting belief? The accepted belief was that your heart would burst due to rapid combustion…

One man ‘Roger Bannister’ was able to suspend this cultural belief and ask himself what if it was possible? What’s if I could run a 4-minute mile?

From that thought came a belief that he indeed could run a four-minute mile… Eventually through creating a laser focus and taking massive action in the direction of his goal he achieved the four-minute mile…

He was the first runner to do it because he had more self-belief than any other runner at the time…

Once that paradigm was broken, six weeks later someone else smashed it and then someone else did it and then someone else, until many people had broken the 4-minute mile many times…

However, what was king, was the thought… “What if it could be done” from that question came belief…

The question… ‘What if, it could be done?’…

Once you acknowledge this, when you become conscious of the right questions you need to ask yourself… Then and only then, you’re going to create that laser focus and tunnel vision…

Then you’ll develop the confidence which turns into belief and thats when anything is possible…

You don’t need to be great to start but you need to start to be great…

As Muhammad Ali used to say… “I always said I was the greatest even before I became the greatest…”

I’m not saying you need to be the greatest… Even Roger Banister wasn’t great when he first started, he had to make mistakes to become great, and guess what? That’s how we learn… Win or learn…

Roger Banister was so passionate about the fact he was born to run and this made it easier to persist in the belief that he would achieve his goals…

One thing you must remember… Whether you think you can do something or whether you think you can’t you’re probably right… If you create a big enough goal and then break it down into small chunks, with every mile stone accomplished your motivation increases and self-esteem flourishes.

How do you eat and elephant? One bite at a time… And just like a snow ball that rolls down a hill, that momentum turns that snow ball into a giant unstoppable force of nature…

Until you take that first step there will always be hesitation. Once you commit to that path then providence moves with you…

Once you allow yourself to believe… Then that belief is yours it belongs to you… It’s yours for the taking… That resource will always be there in your unconscious mind ready and waiting to be activated… Ready to power you…

You will always remember how belief can get you anywhere in life, to believe in yourself you must believe, even if it means taking a leap of faith…

See, hear think and feel yourself doing that thing, until you become driven…

Remember where attention goes energy flows, and by taking action you are making it happen, take massive action in the direction of your goals and you will live the life of your dreams…

Greatness comes from doing all the little things, belief is knowing that you are enough of a character to get things done…

By cultivating discipline, you will create a stronger character… Discipline is not a dirty word, it comes from the word disciple… Self-discipline means to be a disciple of yourself…

A belief is like a solid table made with strong legs, each leg is a reason why that belief is true… Make your self-talk strong and you will have unshakable beliefs…

If you have self-doubts, then you must increase your belief in yourself… When you cultivate this you can do anything…

To become great, say it, believe it, and you will receive it… Then you will know because you will experience it…

Visualisation…

I want you to imagine It’s August 6th 1954 and you are looking down on an athletics track. You can see about 35,000 spectators… This is a race that came to be known as both the “Mile of the Century” and the “Miracle Mile,”

I want you to see Roger Banister at the start line of day he runs a 4-minute mile…

As the gun fires I want you to slip effortlessly into the body of Roger Banister see through the eyes, hear through the ears and feel how good it feels to be Roger Banister on this victorious day…

I WANT YOU TO ACT AS IF YOU ARE ROGER BANISTER

You are feeling tremendously full of running…

Your legs seem to meet no resistance at all…

They are impelled by an unknown force…

It feels like you’re going so slowly, so you impatiently shouted faster…

Chris Brasher in front keeps his head and doesn’t change the pace…

You keep on putting one foot in front of the other…

You’re feeling calm and relaxed running with ease and grace…

Your mind runs ahead of your body…

With each step, you feel it’s an opportunity of a life time…

Lap 2…. You feel so full of running…

Because the leader is running so fast he makes the success possible….

You feel so full of running

“Then you hear a voice in the crowd shouting ‘RELAX’ unconsciously you obey…

You barely notice the half way point pass in 1 minute 58 seconds…

You are so relaxed…

You’re so relaxed, your mind has detached from your body…

You’re in a flow state… So focused on the goal…

Time and space merge into one…

It’s incredible that you can run at this speed without strain…

You’re barely aware of the fact that Chris Chatterway is going into the lead.

At 3/4s of a mile the effort is barely perceptible…

The time is 3minutes 0.7 seconds…

By now you can hear the crowd roaring… The 4-minute mile is possible…

Somehow to do it you have to run the last lap in 59 seconds…

Chattaway leads round the next bend…

Then you pounced past him on the beginning of the back straight…

300 yards from the finish…

You accelerate faster and faster and cross the line in 3.58.8 seconds and achieve the mile of the century the miracle mile, The perfect mile…

Feel what it feels like to be so determined to achieve that level of perfect perfection…

The long hours of excellence and training, the years of dedication, never giving up… To always belief in yourself…

Feel that level of belief… Notice where you feel that belief…

Now reach out with your arms and take Roger Banisters beliefs, qualities, abilities and capabilities, and bring them into yourself and make them yours… Make them a part of you…

As you return to your body now… Bring all of these beliefs and qualities back with you now…

And on the count of three open your eyes… 1,2,3
